Formula feeding and breastfeeding: Can you do both? Should you use baby formula to supplement on your breastfeeding journey?
While there are certainly cases and times where supplementing with formula can be a huge help and support for baby's health, you may not need to consider mixed feeding at all. Most of the time we consider combo feeding (combining breastfeeding and formula feeding) because others may have placed fear or insecurities of our breast feeding journeys, and often times, there is no need for supplementation. You may have been told that your breastfed baby needs to be supplemented, but as long as you are seeing growth and no signs of low milk supply (I have a video on this), then there is no reason for mixing milk. Unless of course, you choose to for your own personal reasons and that is your own decision which is fully supported here. As a breastfeeding advocate, I support all methods of feeding, I just choose to especially provide encouragement for women who have a desire to breastfeed and need breastfeeding support. In this video I share why you may likely don't need to supplement with formula on your breastfeeding journey.
