Songkran - Chiang Mai - 2023 - Best and biggest water fight in the world!

Songkran is a New Year's celebration in Thailand and some neighbouring countries. It is celebrated with loud music, parties in the street, grid-locked traffic at a standstill, and water fights in every direction you can look. Old ladies, young kids, Police, people on scooters, in vehicles, it doesn't matter, if you are in the area or on the road anywhere in Thailand, you're fair game and will probably get wet during this country-wide celebration from Thursday 13th April until Saturday 15th April.
What they don't tell you; is that there is also ice for sale everywhere, so some of the water being bucketed on you is FREEZING COLD!!!
It was one of the funniest few days of our life, I don't think you could do this in my home country of Australia without someone getting offended or upset, it's only due to the lovely nature of Thai people that this celebration works. It felt like a stark difference in the kinds of things we (Australians, and possibly other Western countries) take offence to. Thai people had more of a "We're all in this together" kind of vibe, and it was beautiful to be part of.

We had an amazing time and can't wait to do it again next year. Not sure about the guy at 4:09mins though, haha.
