Crime Beat: "An enigma:" Hiding in plain sight | S2 E12

In July of 2000, 18-year-old Tina Wu was murdered and her younger sister Theresa suffered horrific injuries when an attacker broke into their Toronto apartment.

The two sisters, who were visiting Taiwanese students, were not the only victims in a series of horrifying assaults targeting women in the city. When police eventually tracked down the perpetrator – many questions remained unanswered as to why a shy tradesman unleashed gratuitous, escalated violence against four innocent women, all within a 4 kilometre radius of his home.

The judge in the trial described the convicted murderer as “an enigma” and his life as a “paradox.”
