Famicom Disc System Game Re-Writing: Using FDS Loader to repair non-working Famicom Discs!

The Famicom Disc System is a peripheral for the original Famicom that allowed games to be played from floppy discs instead of cartridges. These discs were cheap to produce and had new features like game saving and extra sound channels. Some of Nintendo's great franchises such as Metroid and the Legend of Zelda were first released on the Famicom Disc System.

On this extra holiday episode of Fix It Friday we will examine an old technique that was once used to re-write discs on the Famicom Disc System: the FDS Loader! This method is outdated but can be used to repair old discs that have read errors.
