I needed to add a patina to this recently planed recycled red oak. I have used a vinegar and steelwool mixture before with good results. I put steel wool in a 1/2 pint jar and filled it with vinegar and shook it. I let it set one week and filtered out any particles and wiped on to the red oak to get this color.
