The church should be a place where people can find support, guidance, and a chance to grow spiritually.
Unfortunately, that isn't always the case for newcomers. Instead of warm welcomes, they might face cold stares and whispered comments.
New people may feel like they’ve entered a private club.
Sometimes, church communities might create an unwelcoming vibe. When long time members stick closely to each other, those who are new can feel left out.
They might hope to feel part of a community but find it difficult due to a lack of warmth or an implicit message that they must fit in completely to be accepted.
This can create a gap between what the church stands for—love and acceptance—and how people behave.
