Setting up my new Otter Vortex Pro Ice Fishing Tent for my upcoming POTA adventures, to do a first thoughts video, and I’m beyond impressed. First off, the build quality is solid – this thing feels sturdy enough to withstand some serious winter weather, which is perfect for those cold, windy days out in the field. The setup was surprisingly easy; I was expecting a bit more of a challenge with all the poles and fabric, but it came together quickly.

Inside, there’s plenty of room for my radio gear, a chair, and even space to move around. The insulation is impressive, too – I'm already feeling a lot warmer than I thought I would, even in freezing temperatures. With the Otter’s dual entry doors and multiple vents, airflow seems perfect for reducing moisture while keeping the warmth inside. I’m also digging the windows for checking out the surroundings while keeping an eye on my antenna setup.

I can see this being a game-changer for my POTA operations, especially when the weather isn’t exactly cooperating. This ice fishing tent feels like it’s got the perfect balance of portability and durability – just what I need for my next portable activation. I'm looking forward to spending more time in it and testing out its real-world performance under field conditions!"
