Coffee with a Curator – Dr. William Jeffett: "Goya— Visions & Inventions" at The Dalí Museum
August 7, 2019

Coffee with a Curator is a focused, theme-oriented presentation on a variety of Dalí-related topics. The talk is presented by one of The Dalí Museum’s Curatorial/Education team or an invited speaker.

Join Curator Dr. William Jeffett for an introduction to Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes and The Dalí’s new special exhibition, Before Dalí: Goya— Visions & Inventions. Dr. Jeffett will discuss why Goya is one of the most important Spanish artists of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, how he influenced Salvador Dalí in his early years, and why Goya’s work is considered by many scholars to be the basis for “modern” art, bridging Classicism and Romanticism.
