In this live-fire training exercise, Type 90 tanks fire a mixture of different types of ammunition, depending on the type of target. First, against enemy tanks, dart ammunition (APFSDS) is fired while running. Next, against enemy armoured vehicles, ammunition is immediately changed to HEAT and fired immediately after they have stopped. Finally, against re-emerging enemy tanks, fire APFSDS ammunition while running. The distance to the target is approximately 1,800 metres. These rapid moving fires are made possible by the advanced automatic loader and fire control system (FCS) on Type 90 tanks.
