Caribbean culture and art is vibrant with color, form and character and Barbados is well know as a center of the arts in the regions. Art in all its forms -sculpting, pottery, crafts, dance, music and painting - is part of the Barbados culture and heritage.

In this video we dig into earth and clay to look inside the molds, kilns and processes at Earthworks Pottery in Barbados. The art and techniques here are legendary. We look at the studio and meet the people and the artists at work. They hand mold and craft unique ornamental plates, functional vases, mugs and tableware. All pieces are works of art, representing the cultural heritage of the people of Barbados and the Caribbean.

Earthworks Pottery is one of the most respected potteries in the Caribbean. They use the traditional method of spinning clay on a turn table and shaping it into original art. Some of the potters crafts are made into molds and reproduced using the molding process as described in this video.
