Action to raise awareness towards the preservation of whaling heritage - Fayal 2023

PT Em 2022, no âmbito das missões do CONCHA na ilha do Faial, foi realizada uma ação de sensibilização para a preservação do património baleeiro que reuniu os parceiros OMA, NOVA FCSH e UNINORTE, em conjunto com um grupo de voluntários de diferentes idades e origens. A ação decorreu no 80º aniversário da Fábrica da Baleia (sede do OMA) e teve como objetivo limpar e registar um dos três antigos barcos baleeiros açorianos para estudos futuros.

ENG In 2022, as part of CONCHA's missions on Fayal Island, an awareness-raising action was carried out for the preservation of whaling heritage that brought together partners OMA, NOVA FCSH and UNINORTE, together with a group of volunteers of different ages and origins. The action took place on the 80th anniversary of Fábrica da Baleia (OMA headquarters) and aimed to clean and record one of the three old Azorean whaling boats for future studies.
