I get a lot of inquiries about whether someone is a candidate for a ‘Tip Plasty,’ or altering of just the tip of the nose. It's really rare to be a candidate for a tip plasty because the nose is a three dimensional structure, so altering one part of the nose typically has consequences on the rest of the nose. This young woman had issues with breathing, had a deviated septum, and really didn't like the bulbosity of her tip, but thought that her bridge was perfectly fine. She was okay with her profile and I actually happen to agree with her.

When we did the 3D simulation (Vectra) to show what her nose would look like with simply reducing the bulbosity of her tip, it actually happened to conform with the rest of her nose quite nicely. So I teamed up with my friend Dr. Amit Kochhar — @dramitkochhar did a complex anterior septal reconstruction to completely reconstruct the septum. And then I did the cosmetic portion, and did some advanced maneuvers of overlapping cartilages to reduce the bulbosity of her tip. So we worked together and had a very successful tip plasty outcome.
