The Aiki Dojo 2 Minute Technique - Back Stretching

In this episode of the Aiki Dojo 2 Minute Technique, David Ito Sensei, Aikido 5th Dan explains the basics of Back Stretching in Aikido. Back stretching is a preparatory exercise which helps us develop good backwards ukemi. Back stretching forces us to use our legs and hips and helps us to get into the proper position prior to being throw. By purposefully stretching our backs, back stretching can help us to lengthen our spines, increase our flexibility and improve our mobility.
