JIIPE Ports Welcomes PT Freeport Indonesia's First Copper Concentrate Shipment

On June 21, 2024, the Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik, East Java, marked a significant milestone in Indonesia's industrial sector. The first shipment of copper concentrate from PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) arrived at JIIPE's port, signaling the commencement of operational trials for PTFI's state-of-the-art smelter.

The MV Unitama Lily, carrying 22,000 tons of copper concentrate from Amamapare Port in Central Papua, docked at JIIPE. Out of the total shipment, 12,000 tons will be refined at the PTFI smelter, the world's largest single-line copper smelter, while the remaining will be delivered to PT Smelting Gresik.
