Hello guys, this new update came with some buffs & nerfs, main focus being improving status effects, which Warden is very satisfied with 🐼
The two general big nerfs we got are Trap who no longer procs Bleed pretty much, translating in around a 3k dps loss on every class/specs EXCEPT WARDEN, thanks to Bear having a very decent Bleed uptime by himself. Adding Trap & Bird, you reach a very satisfying uptime, resulting in overall a DPS gain. Secondly, Charged trait who got weakened, therefore less damage with Chilled & other status, but Charged is still the best trait frontbar for Warden (take note they nerfed Warden passive who affected chilled damage, but it's compensated by the status itself who got buffed).
Overall the status changes is really good for Warden : poisoned DPS is a little bit higher and it's always good to have execute scaling damage sources, the spell damage from Sundered is pretty appreciable & adds some damage by itself (you can see a near 90% uptime in my CMX), and the Charged nerf is less noticeable than on other classes as Warden as a lot of guarantee status proc in his kit (Bear, Artic Blast, Winter's Revenge, Ele sus, Frost Reach, etc..).
Sadly, they still didn't ajust the big issue Warden has : the sustain which gatekeep it to be used more in any content, on top of lacking of utility.
Ice/Ice warden is simply not viable in raid environnement, you will simply just lack too much of sustain. You can play it of course, but you need to be aware that you are sacrificing way too much damage & sustain, which can make the experience rather less enjoyable.
△ I was Dark Elf in this parse as it's normally my stamden character, but I really recommend you to be High Elf. The extra stamina sustain can be very appreciable in long fights or if you need to Roll quite a few times.
➤ If you are in a long fight, don't use Executioner, it's tough to sustain.
➤ If you are in a short/bursty fight, keep Executioner but remove Carve.
Use them as a flex spot whenever you need sustain (Netch, etc). If you need healing you can recast Wind (In solo, you can use Pale Order as mythic).
They buffed the Warden ice ultimate, but its still noticeably worse than Bear. Even w/ the anti-synergy Bear has with Pillager, it's still better than whoever else you could use.
Maelstrom 2H is enhancing your damage by a lot w/ status having a direct damage component, which makes it mandatory to play warden now (on top of not being able to sustain without anyway 🥼).
If you wish to use Staff/Staff, you should definitely use Maelstrom Ice Staff.
Relequen is performing very well with Velothi here to boost it. I really advise to keep it, but if you really need to you can use Depths in 4 man/Solo, it will give you a lot of sustain & Pen stat, but be aware of the huge damage loss.
Selene is better than Zaan. It's also very funny to look at two bears hammering your target.
I recommend if possible to use Heroism pots and have Camo hunter in content, it will help you a lot with sustain (Warden main weakness).
