Au: The remaining survivors of the Hale fire. Hayley, Derek, Cora, and Peter Hale. Derek was in the woods on a run when he found his little sister Hayley playing hide and seek with her daughter Hope. He told his friends and Cora that she was alive Cora didn’t believe it so he brung Hayley back to their apartment, Lydia then tells them that Hayley has a daughter Derek smiled but it resulted in Hayley telling them the story on how it happened. Derek is up late at night and remembers the good times he had with Hayley. The siblings get into a fight because of Hope’s father, he doesn’t want Hope to meet them. Hayley defends her family and goes against him. Hayley brings them to meet Hope, at first Hope is uncomfortable but eventually grows attached to Derek and Cora. Hayley gets kidnapped and ends up sacrificing herself for Hope when she’s threatened to be killed, Derek who was too weak to fight was forced to watch. Cora comes back to the apartment finding Hope on the floor unconscious. When she wakes up Cora is relieved, Cora and Derek end up raising Hope. Derek sees Hope with a boy, him and Cora go to Hope and tell her they approve of him. Derek is most protective of Hope and snaps at Peter for pushing Hope down and threatening her. Cora shows up to Hope’s dorm to see her. Malia, Hope’s cousin was in the woods and sees Hope, in school Malia sees her again and thinks of her mother Hayley who she was extremely close to. Cora got sick and was rushed to the hospital and Derek was with her. Malia comforted Hope who eventually found out and started crying.
