Seagate Ironwolf 6TB (ST6000VN001) vs WD Purple 6TB (WD62PURZ) noise comparison

Описание к видео Seagate Ironwolf 6TB (ST6000VN001) vs WD Purple 6TB (WD62PURZ) noise comparison

Noise comparison between the rebranded HGST 6TB Western Digital Purple 6TB 5640RPM HDD between Seagate’s Ironwolf 6TB 5425RPM HDD. I personally say the Ironwolf 6TB HDD wins because is way quieter when reading files. The Western Digital Purple (WD62PURZ) HDD is part of the same family as Western Digital’s Red Plus 6TB (WD60EFZX) and is obnoxiously loud when reading files. These WD 6TB have a buffer size of 128MB whereas the Seagate’s Ironwolf have a 256MB Buffer. These WD red plus drives aren’t necessarily unreliable but eventually will be replaced (including the WD Red SMR EFAX Series and Red Plus EFZX series using ApolloCR) with new CMR and 256MB cache models the EFPX series. And so may the WD62PURZ be replaced with the 256MB cache models the WD63PURZ. Both of these now models will use the similar family (Venice-R) as those SMR models except CMR!

Let me know you’re opinions!
