I just did a joint replacement surgery last week for a 52 year old gentleman who cycles 100 kilometres a week.
He told me, “I want to cycle 100 kilometres a week even after my joint replacement” Then how am I going to achieve this outcome?
The basic requirements is good surgical skill, excellent surgical skill, subspecialty surgical expertise. But in addition, we now need to push the envelop.
We need to marry surgical skills with new technologies like robotics.
And when we work with technologies hand in hand, we can provide patients with cutting edge outcome with excellent outcomes.
We must not accept anything less than excellent.
