Located in Cancuns famed resort area, the Hotel Riu Cancun is an all-inclusive beachfront destination offering an array of activities. The L-shaped main building is 14 stories high, with a five-story annex next door. The main building towers over the adjacent beach and the lush green garden paths that lead to the pools. The grand lobby is elegantly decorated with black columns with gold-leaf accents, polished marble floors and high ceilings. Accommodations are divided into double rooms and junior suites and are simply decorated, featuring linens, upholstery and drapes in either navy blue or red earth tones. Most rooms have balconies or terraces with ocean views, and junior suites have sunken lounge areas as well.

Guests have several dining options. The all-inclusive Cancun resort offers meals 24 hours a day, including buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and snacks and theme dinner buffets twice a week. Other dining venues, which require reservations, are Corazone, featuring Brazilian cuisine with buffet starters and desserts and table service for the main course; grill and steakhouse La Misin, international Don Juan, featuring buffet dining; and Kawachi, serving a la carte Japanese cuisine.

There are three swimming pools and a childrens pool on site. Complimentary lounge chairs await guests on the beach and by the pools. Use of the gym, sauna and Jacuzzi is free for those 18 and older. The Renova Spa features treatments, massages and a beauty salon, all at an additional charge. A lit tennis court and table tennis are available, and water activities include windsurfing, catamaran sailing, canoeing and snorkeling. Bicycling and golf are available nearby. There are separate daytime programs for children and adults; music and shows are performed at night, and the Pacha nightclub is open six nights a week. Lobby and lounge bars provide additional evening entertainment.
