You never know who it is you’ll encounter in online matches. It could be your garden-variety, angry 12-year-olds, a smurfing pro having a bit of fun at your expense, a big name streamer mixing it up with the plebs - or maybe it’s a former Navy diver, who is putting 20 years of military expertise into kicking your ass.

Grandpa Gaming is a melon-popping actual boomer who spent about a third of his life in the US military - and nearly 45 years playing video games.

But it’s not how long he’s been gaming that’s the impressive part. It’s the fact that he’s been through a laundry list of debilitating health issues that would’ve broken a lesser man - and is still going strong.
