When looking back at the history of the Second World War, you can't ignore the contribution and effort of Bomber Command. With more than a million men and women either serving or supporting from sixty nations across the world, they significantly changed the outcome of the Second World War.

Of the 125,000 aircrew who served, more than 44% of them were killed whilst serving, the highest rate of attrition for any Allied unit.

One of their number was a young banker from Scotland named William Derek Scott. This is his story.
