The premise behind Warriors of Dragonshire is quite simple: it’s about a band of warriors… from a place (that I made up) called Dragonshire… and they’re going on an adventure! This piece pays homage to all my time spent playing fantasy RPG video games, watching and reading Lord of the Rings, and partaking in my fair share of Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. I never really got to play music about anything of this sort when I was growing up in band and orchestra, but I know that as the geek I was (and still am), I would have been ecstatic to be able to. Here’s to all the lovers of high fantasy and grand adventure!
