Bailey's Baby Girl Giraffe Calf Meets Viv

There's a new kid in the yard! Bailey's calf has been spending time outside with the herd, and on Tuesday, she met Viv for the first time. Viv is our little calf's half-sister, born in 2019 to mom, Msitu, and dad, Khalid. The two are roughly a year apart in age, making them quite the exuberant duo!

Viv was very curious about the nearly-month-old calf, and spent a large part of the day getting acquainted with her scent. During initial interactions like these, calm curiosity and extensive smelling is all part of what keepers look for to make sure that the meet-and-greet is going well. The calf, whose name we expect to announce soon, did exhibit a rather bold case of the zoomies, and kept Viv on her toes all day long!
