Last week, I filed the first three drafts of some initiatives I've written which will start the long overdue process, I believe, of restoring some accountability to the Washington State Judiciary. This is a good initial exercise to go through in the long road towards true reform. It starts like this - an idea, drafted in the language of a piece of new legislation. If we can't fund or organize the initiative process in a way to implement these policies, then the exercise at least produces a clean draft for a new legislative proposal for your favorite state legislator to propose during the next legislative session.
