Classic Mini Survival Guide: Oil pump checking, inspection, and improvement.

YOU MUST DO THESE CHECKS BEFORE FITTING THE PUMP!!

If you are doing a new engine build, you must check all the parts before assembly and oil pumps are just one of those parts that need inspection.

I fully disassemble this pump to check for issues with casting flash, grit, and tolerances.

I fully deburr all surfaces and find a couple of issues with machining.

I check rotor to ring, ring to body, and run-out clearances.
