Dell Bios Update using a WinPe Boot USB | "test" message

Описание к видео Dell Bios Update using a WinPe Boot USB | "test" message

In this Video due to the "test" message that Shows up in some Dell computer models when trying to update the Bios version from a USB flash Drive. I create a bootable USB drive that contains a light version of Windows 7. This in order to avoid the "test" message.

UPDATE: This method is advisable if you get the "test" or "this can't be run on DOS mode "messages when trying to update your BIOS version using a bootable USB. However, depending on the computer model you have it may or may not work.

You need to have administrator rights on the computer

Have the USB already insterted to make it bootable

Open “Deployment Tools Command Prompt” and type: copype.cmd x86 c:\winpe_x86

Copy the base image "winpe.wim" into \Winpe_x86\ISO\sources folder and rename the file to boot.wim.

copy c:\winpe_x86\winpe.wim c:\winpe_x86\ISO\sources\boot.wim

Mount the boot.wim to c:\winpe_x86\mount directory for editing and type the following commands:

Dism /Mount-Wim /WimFile:C:\winpe_x86\ISO\sources\boot.wim /index:1 /MountDir:C:\winpe_x86\mount

To unmount the file system and compile back to boot.wim

Dism /unmount-Wim /MountDir:C:\winpe_x86\mount /Commit

Now, format or copy all to the USB flash drive:

xcopy C:\winpe_x86\iso\*.* /e G:\
