Nalanda University (নালন্দা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is India’s second oldest university which has a rich history we should be proud of. Nalanda was an epicentre to Buddha and Buddhism and contemporary of Taxila University (তক্ষশীলা মহাবিহার). Thousands of students from all corners of the world visited here to get the highest quality of education available back then. Nalanda saw a tragic end when it was burnt into ashes by Muslim invaders. Recently Naba Nalanda University has been started again by central government of India just beside Nalanda's ruins and students can enroll here for higher studies. In today's Bengali History Video we will learn about Nalanda University history, where Nalanda was situated, who built Nalanda, why Nalanda became so famous and how Nalanda was destroyed
