Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is a manga focused on small details. The sound of the ocean, the right place to take a photo, or the taste of freshly ground coffee. Hitoshi Ashinano's science fiction manga is a mysteriously calm series considering it takes place in a post-apocalyptic Japan. Alpha, Kokone, and the rest of the YKK characters are incredibly charming, but this manga's real strength is its steady, nostalgic tone.
