Going for a walk around the Varberg Fortress in Varberg, Sweden

Walking around the fortress in Varberg (Varberg Fästning) in Sweden. There sure is a lot of cannons places all around this place and more than once did my fear of heights start acting up when looking over the edges without any safety railings or similar.

The hill the fortress stands on has been used as a defensive location since at least the 13th century, there's been a stronghold, then a castle and 1588, after the castle had been badly damaged, the process of converting it into a fortress began. 30 years later, in 1618, the fortress was finished. It was an active defensive facility until 1830.
