Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bhutan from 11th to 12th November 2025 to strengthen civilizational ties, shared Buddhist heritage, and development partnership. During the visit, he will participate in the Global Peace Prayer Festival, celebrate the 70th birth anniversary of Bhutan’s fourth king, Jigme Sing Wangchuk, and offer prayers to the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha. PM Modi will inaugurate the 1,020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydropower Project, meet King Jigme Namgyel Wangchuk, and hold talks with Prime Minister Shering Tobgay. India remains Bhutan’s largest trade and development partner, supporting capacity building, youth skill development, and bilateral cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and technology.
