Shingletown is a census-designated place in Shasta County, California, United States. The population was 2,283 at the 2010 census, up from 2,222 at the 2000 census. Shingletown is a small town located along California State Route 44 in the hills just below Mount Lassen.

🌍History
Shingletown has a history of logging large timber, including pine, fir and cedar. It is also known as "The Gateway to Lassen". Shingletown was originally named Shingle Camp, for the workers who cut roofing slats from timber to supply miners during the Gold Rush era.

Redding is a city in Northern California. Turtle Bay Exploration Park includes an arboretum, botanical gardens and a museum with natural history exhibits. Spanning the Sacramento River, the Sundial Bridge is a suspension bridge that also acts as a huge, working sundial. West, Shasta State Historic Park holds the ruins of an 1800s gold-rush mining town. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area has waterfalls and a lake.
