Reason #1 - Circulation Motor: This part has a motor on one end and power terminals on the other end to circulate the water throughout the dishwasher. Reason #2 - Drain Pump: This part on the bottom of the dishwasher pumps the water out of the dishwasher into the drain hose. The unit consists of a pump body, a small electric motor, and an impeller. If you hear noise when the dishwasher is draining, it could be that the motor is going bad or that there is something stuck in the pump body.

Reason #3 - Water Inlet Valve: This part lets the water into the dishwasher and is usually found down in the front behind the access panel. If there is noise when the dishwasher is filling, this could indicate that the water inlet valve is bad.

Reason #4 - Pump Seal and Impeller Kit: This is the part that seals the motor where it connects to the pump. The impeller is the part that actually pumps the water. Yours may include seals, drains, and motors, depending on the model. You'll find the impeller on the bottom of the dishwasher. If the noise is coming from this area, you can check to see if there is debris in the pump or if there is any damage to be found.

Reason #5 - Door Cable Roller: This is a unit that routing the door cable from the spring to the hinge so that the door can open and close smoothly. They're usually mounted on the tub. If the noise happens when you open and close the door, it could be that the rollers have broken or been otherwise damaged.

Reason #6 - Door Hinges: The door rides on these when you open and close it. One half mounts to the tub and the other mounts to the door, with one on each side of the tub. Slide the appliance out and locate the hinges on the bottom sides of the tub. If the dishwasher makes squealing or creaking noises when it is opened or closed, it could be the hinges that are bad.
