1. Dr. Luke's greatest contribution to the Cause of Christ is the two-volume Life of Christ and Life of the Early Church known as The Gospel of Luke & The Acts of the Apostles. Luke 1:1-4; Acts 1:1-3,8

2. Dr. Luke was a learned Gentile physician and the first historian of the early church.
"...that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught."

3. Dr. Luke interviewed eye witnesses. Notably, it seems likely that Luke interviewed Mary the Mother of Jesus, explaining the incredible historical details of Mary's experience and Jesus' miraculous conception and virgin birth. This my also be why Luke especially highlights the role of women in ministry of Jesus and the early church.

4. Dr. Luke wrote under the Apostolic Authority of the Apostle Paul, whom he appears to have met near Troas on Paul's second missionary journey. Acts 16:6-15

Dr. Luke was Paul's faithful companion, fellow worker, beloved physician and loyal friend.

Acts 16:10 - Have you and I moved from "they" to "we"?
