Video of the two 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SLs that sold at the Broad Arrow Jet Center Auction during Monterey Car Week 2023. One is perfect, the other is a crappy, sloppy restoration. The black one went for $190,400, while the grayish one went for $92,400. Instead of buying the shitty Pagoda, the buyer could have bought one of two 190SLs that went for $100k and $89k. Instead, he’s got a $92,400 car, plus auction fees, that needs a full restoration.
