What does the American Dream mean today? For Niko Bellic, fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity.

NOTES:
The friendship system adds gameplay depth and unlocks useful abilities, but it quickly becomes tedious. You need to call and hang out often, which gets repetitive and annoying.
Completing all activities and unlock special abilities for Jacob, Brucie and Packie are required for 100% completion. Roman and Dwayne are optional.
It is required to complete all activities before "That Special Someone" (Mission #84). Afterwards, you'll not be able to hang out with your friends until the end of the game.
Some friends like Roman, Jacob and Packie become unavailable after certain missions.
Dwayne becomes your friend only after eliminating Playboy X in "The Holland Play" (Mission #51) and responding positively to his email.
Canceling invites after accepting may actually stop dropping the "Like" percentage.
You can combine multiple activities per outing to raise the "Like" percentage faster.
