Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann sacked Vijay Singla from the state cabinet on Tuesday, shortly after health minister Dr. Vijay Singla was arrested on charges of corruption. In a video message shared on social media, Mann said he decided to sack Dr. Singla after learning the minister was allegedly demanding a 1% commission on tenders passed for buying medicines, equipment, and other material. After verifying all the allegations action was taken against him. Several AAP leaders commended Mr. Mann and called it the party's policy of "zero tolerance for corruption". Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "Proud of you Bhagwant. Ur action has brought tears to my eyes. The whole nation today feels proud of AAP”, appreciating his decisive and prompt action.
