In 1950, French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented the Schuman Declaration, which for the first time spoke of the integration of European countries and is now considered the conceptual framework of the European Union.

The Schuman Declaration and the history of the European Union are the subject of the Boter Institute's project DESIRE - Schuman Declaration: Initiative for the Revival of Europe, which aims to remind people that Europeans share a common history and that it is crucial for us to be in solidarity, to connect and to work together.
