City ponds are loud, busy, and chaotic — but they can hold some truly unexpected fish. In this video, I fly fish a city community pond and hook into one of the wildest fish I’ve ever caught in an urban setting.

Between cars driving by, dogs barking, and geese flying overhead, I worked my way along a city pond and ended up hooking a bright orange koi on the fly.

Urban ponds don’t look like much, but they can hold surprising species — and some of them fight way harder than you’d ever expect.

This is catch-and-release fly fishing, focused on multi-species fishing in unexpected places.
