Join us as we explore Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada’s oldest and most visually striking state park, located just one hour northeast of Las Vegas. Famous for its fiery red Aztec sandstone this park looks like something straight out of another planet—especially during sunrise and sunset.

In this video, we take a scenic drive and stop at some of the park’s most iconic spots, including:

The Fire Wave – swirling layers of red, pink, and white rock
White Domes – a short hike with slot canyon vibes
Elephant Rock – a natural rock formation near the east entrance
Atlatl Rock – ancient petroglyphs with an easy stair climb
Mouse’s Tank – an easy walk featuring more incredible rock art

Best time to visit: October through April
Summer temperatures can be extreme, so plan accordingly
Entry fee is typically $10 per vehicle
Cell service is limited—download maps ahead of time
No camping inside the park, but nearby BLM land offers options
