An intense debate has emerged in Kenya after 3 judges from the court of appeal proposed an amendment to the sexual offences act to have the age of consent lowered from 18 years to 16 years. As Raquel Muigai reports, many parents and teachers have expressed apprehension over this, saying this could expose small girls to the difficulties associated with pregnancies, motherhood and early marriage.
