Pakistan has publicly endorsed China’s claim of playing a mediating role during India-Pakistan tensions last year. At a press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that Chinese leaders were in constant contact with Pakistan and even reached out to Indian leadership during the crisis.

The statement follows remarks by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who said China had mediated multiple global conflicts, including the India-Pakistan standoff. Previously, Pakistan had credited U.S. President Donald Trump for the suspension of hostilities, but Islamabad now highlights China’s alleged involvement in de-escalating tensions.
