Two interesting monuments close to each other are located near the top of the hill in Wheeling, WV. They are best seen going westbound on U.S. Highway 40, a.k.a. the Historic National Road. The Mingo statue was placed there in 1928 by the local Kiwanis Club. (It was stolen in 1982 but eventually placed back)

Across the street is the McCulloch's Leap Monument, which contains some graphic detail.
