Conversation About Fitting

Описание к видео Conversation About Fitting

For many garment sewers, getting the fit you want can be problematic - perhaps time consuming and frustrating, and sometimes difficult enough that you consider abandoning garment sewing altogether. Yet, it's a goal well worth working towards and achieving, because the payoff is that you can focus on garment design, fabric selection, and construction.

In this "Conversation About Fitting," Kris Haight asks me a variety of questions as well as talks about some of her experiences as she worked with me in developing a few well-fitting patterns. Some of our topics are:
• What are the pros and cons of having an expert create a moulage for you versus working through the fitting of a garment on your own with advice from books, online classes, and perhaps help from a fitting expert?
• At what point do you decide the fit of a garment is good? Is "good enough" okay? And are there any advantages to "good enough"?
• What is a master pattern, and how is it used?
From concrete fitting tips to fitting philosophy, Kris and I cover a lot of ground!
