The Bible teaches that the rapture is when Jesus suddenly gathers His faithful people to Himself, transforming them and catching them up into the clouds to meet Him. It’s described as instant and unexpected. Key verses include 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51–52, showing believers taken to be with Christ forever.

Meanwhile, the Bible says that the Great Tribulation will be a time of terrible trouble on earth like never before. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 24 verses 21 to 22, “then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.”

Revelation chapters 6 to 16 describe plagues, wars, famine, earthquakes, and the rise of the Antichrist who will deceive many and force people to take the mark of the beast (Revelation chapter 13 verses 16 to 17).

People who refuse the mark will not be able to buy or sell, and many believers will be persecuted for their faith (Matthew chapter 24 verse 9). Yet God promises that those who endure and remain faithful to Jesus will be saved (Matthew chapter 24 verse 13).
