BBC broadcast

Original comments: "Years ago I got 7 different short BBC broadcasts that were actually 6, because one turned out to be a different version of one of the others. All came between late 1977 abd late 1981, and all involved Allah Holdsworth. Holdsworth was either the leader, co-leader, or a prominent member of each ensemble represented. (...). This particular broadcast is the one I have two version of, and this one I'm now sharing is clearly the better sounding one of the two. It was originally a 4 track version, but I've now split the final DJ outro from Sunday, as it had been on the other version. (...). These BBC broadcasts tend to showcase Holdsworth in a different light than most of his albums beginning in the early 80's would. The BBC broadcasts are all pretty "jazzy" and generally find Allan as the only electric player. He's still as astounding and creative as anyone would normally expect, but it does seem as though he was flirting with more of a jazz direction before launching the original IOU with Paul Williams, Gary Husband and Paul Carmichael. That quartet's early 80's gigs resulted in Holdsworth becoming a resident of Southern California and pretty much making that his musical base for the remainder of his career. In this particular broadcast, Holdsworth wrote all 3 pieces, and Nevermore from UK is here titled Sunday, and it stretches out for over 14 minutes."
