A normal day consists of keeping up to date with news, monitoring market developments, building financial models, researching companies and interacting with clients, companies or other firms.

Glassdoor found that the average annual salary for an equity research is around $94,000, while the high end sits at around $141,000. Private equity firms and other financial services companies are the chief employers of equity researchers.
