We interviewed ARMOR CEO John Holden and asked him to talk us through the company's early days.
It was in early 1990 that Holden received notice that the plant in Canada that he contracted with for paper coating was going out of business. With much thought and fortitude, Holden took the leap and purchased the equipment from the failing company, relocated it to a different plant and started what is now Armor Protective Packaging® Canada. With the new equipment and the ability to control coating and converting, the company moved toward a leadership position in VCI paper.
During this same time, ARMOR added additional VCI products to its product line, added its first outside sales representative and further moved beyond the U.S. and Canadian borders as it added customers in Mexico.
