Growing up in South Africa, a country with one of the highest rates of economic inequality in the world, Damian has realized that one of the biggest indicators of the social and economic divide are trees.

Damian Willemse wants to address this environmental inequality by planting trees in South Africa, his home country. He is starting an initiative to raise 500,000 rand to plant trees, in an effort to begin the process of reforestation in the communities that need it most. Damian hopes this will expose others to nature, helping them to feel more connected to the environment.
