ArrowXT™ Walk-In Heavy-Duty Rescue – Annapolis Fire Department, MD

Описание к видео ArrowXT™ Walk-In Heavy-Duty Rescue – Annapolis Fire Department, MD

The Annapolis Fire Department is replacing their 1998 rescue with this Arrow XT Walk-In HDR. The single rear axle was chosen to maintain a specific turning radius for the narrow streets within the city of Annapolis, MD. The focus on firefighter safety is important to the department as well as keeping a shorter OAL and maintaining the reliability of the rescue. Pretensioners were added to the seat belts for safety, and the vinyl seats can be easily wiped down for cleaning after a call.

A walk-in rescue body does not allow for a transverse compartment, so they chose to place one in the rear of the cab. To make up room for compartment depth loss, crib compartments are installed for longer tools that will be used on accident scenes. Compartments on the operator’s side were designed for tools but can also store medium and high-pressure air bags. A receiver hitch and power source for the 9,000 lb portable winch are located on both sides and the rear of the apparatus. There is also a 15,000 lb fixed winch in the front bumper.

Entering the rear, there is storage under the bench seat for ladders, seating for 2 with SCBA retention brackets and a workspace for hazardous material personal. The remainder of the bench seat will store additional long tools.
