At no more than a few weeks old, Rex’s short life flashed before his eyes when jaw vicious jaws of his brutal attacker clamped down around his tiny body. Although Rex managed to escape, the incident left him with extensive nerve damage across his body, and he was barely able to move when he was found.

Tiny kitten Rex recently sustained several significant injuries across his entire tiny body after being viciously attacked by a large dog. He had likely been living as a stray and somehow became separated from his family at just a few weeks old. We can only imagine the terror that must have coursed through little Rex’s veins as the jaws of death closed around him. At first, we thought that Rex had suffered multiple broken bones. He cradled his injured limbs beneath him and yowled in pain.

However, we learned that Rex was actually suffering from extensive nerve damage from injuries sustained during the attack. We were extremely concerned that the damage would be permanent, but Rex continues to prove to us that he is the most resilient little boy. Since coming into our care, Rex has gone from practically immobile to being able to take a few wobbly steps on his own. His nerve damage seems to be improving, and although we aren’t yet sure if he will make a full recovery, he seems to be trending in the right direction.

Rex will remain in our care until his body has healed and he is old enough to be adopted. In addition to helping this little boy overcome his terrible injuries, we are making sure he has all of the basic vet care he needs. Although he came to us injured and afraid, every day we are seeing more of Rex’s sweet personality. This little boy has survived the unimaginable, and now he has only brighter days ahead.
